Programs
at The Wellness Community are offered in a

cancer, their family and friends. All programs are
free of charge.

Introductory Meetings
Are you new to The Wellness Community? If so, please attend an Orientation Meeting to learn how to best take advantage of our various services. In these meetings, adults with cancer, family members, friends, and caregivers meet with others, get important information about coping with cancer, and learn that they are not alone.
Weekly Support Groups
Ongoing, weekly support groups, led by licensed professionals are at the heart of our program. Our groups can help you maintain hope, regain a sense of control, and let you know that you are not alone in this time of need. We also have face-to-face and internet support groups in English and Spanish. All groups are facilitated by licensed, trained psycho-oncology professionals.
A brief interview is required to join these groups. Please call 305/668-5900 to schedule an interview.
Mondays at 6 pm and Fridays at 10 am
Online
Groups
We have found that women with breast cancer who used a real-time, professionally facilitated, Internet-based support group successfully reduced their depression, distress and negative reactions to pain while increasing their zest for life and spirituality. The positive findings from this pilot research study have led us to the development of various online support groups available through the Virtual Wellness Community.
Currently, The Wellness Community Greater Miami, in collaboration with The Wellness Community National and New York University, is offering an on line support group in Spanish for breast cancer patients. Please contact Peggy Rios at 305-668-5900 for more details
